Who serves sashimi in Wesley Chapel?
Bonsai Sushi, at 1652 Bruce B Downs Blvd in The Shoppes at New Tampa, serves twelve kinds: salmon, tuna, yellowtail, toro, escolar, white fish, mackerel, squid, octopus, conch, smoked salmon and eel. Pick by the kind, or the Sashimi Plate: fifteen slices with salad and miso soup. Order sashimi for pickup or delivery or come in.
Which sashimi should you start with?
Salmon or tuna, if you are new to it, because they are the soft, mild ones. Hamachi (Yellow Tail) Sashimi is the next step, richer and a little firmer. Toro (Fatty Tuna) Sashimi is the belly cut of the tuna and the richest thing in the section, so save it for when you already like the tuna. Mackerel, squid, octopus and conch sit at the other end of the list: stronger-tasting or firmer, and worth a slice once salmon and tuna feel easy.
How much sashimi comes in an order?
By the kind, each fish is its own order. For a taste, the Sashimi Appetizer is two slices each of tuna, salmon and white fish. The Sashimi Plate is fifteen slices, three each of tuna, salmon, white fish, escolar and yellowtail, with a house salad in ginger dressing and miso soup. The Sushi & Sashimi Combo mixes five pieces of nigiri, nine slices of sashimi and a California Roll, and the Tekka Don lays nine slices of tuna sashimi over sushi rice. The list, as the menu has it:
Salmon (Sake) Sashimi: thinly sliced raw salmon.
Tuna (Maguro) Sashimi: thinly sliced raw tuna, served without rice.
Hamachi (Yellow Tail) Sashimi: thinly sliced raw yellowtail.
Toro (Fatty Tuna) Sashimi: slices of fatty tuna belly.
Sashimi Appetizer: tuna, salmon and white fish, two slices each.
Sashimi Plate: fifteen slices, three each of five fish, with house salad and miso soup.
